UX Writing Intern
The Role
As UX Writing intern, you will play a pivotal role in the upcoming launch of Lapis. Collaborating closely with our product development and editorial teams, you will create user tutorials and craft user-facing instructions to facilitate a smooth user experience with Lapis. Your exceptional copywriting skills will be instrumental in conveying complex concepts in a user-friendly manner, allowing users to harness the full potential of Lapis. You will report to the Editor for the duration of the internship (3 to 6 months), and must be based in Singapore. Lapis is an innovative data storytelling tool created by Kontinentalist that is poised to launch in November 2023. Our vision is to make data storytelling accessible to all, providing an intuitive storybuilder for beginners and custom code blocks for experienced storytellers. Emphasising collaboration, Lapis enables real-time workflows for seamless team dynamics. As a community-driven platform, we encourage users to share their work, receive feedback, and find opportunities for collaboration, ultimately making data storytelling an effortless and enjoyable experience for all.
About Kontinentalist
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the product development team to deeply understand Lapis' functionalities and features.
- Create clear and engaging user tutorials catering to both beginners and experienced storytellers.
- Craft user-facing instructions that simplify complex concepts, ensuring seamless navigation of Lapis.
- Provide administrative support to facilitate team collaboration and communication, which includes note taking, and creating and maintaining documentations and guidelines.
- Work closely with the editorial team to align copy with the Lapis brand voice and vision.
What we look out for
- Experience with UX writing, or proven ability to translate technical information into user-friendly language.
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant degree programme (e.g. Communications, Marketing, Data Science, Journalism, or related fields).
- Excellent written communication skills with a strong grasp of grammar and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with data storytelling concepts and tools (preferred but not mandatory).
- Deep desire for learning and a can-do attitude, coupled with open-mindedness and a willingness to offer and receive criticism.
